Key Points

1. You should be able to find inverse functions. To find an expression for \( f^{-1}(x) \): let \( y = f(x) \), rearrange to make \( x \) the subject, and then state \( f^{-1}(x) \) by replacing any \( y \)s with \( x \)s.
2. You should know when inverse functions exist. A function must be one-to-one in order to have an inverse.
